mailing machines
Insider Secret #2:
Contact the manufacturer directly .
I alluded to this secret in the secret #1. You may have based your comparisons of mailing machines on information the salesperson supplied you. Really big mistake.
You can easily see the ads for all the different manufacturers’ mailing machines. Do a quick internet search and you’ll see their ads. Take advantage of the vast amount of information that’s right behind that click.
There are a few very good reasons you should do this.
1. First, by clicking on an ad and requesting information, you create a lead and all of the companies track leads. They want leads to be cost effective and it adds more-than-subtle pressure for a mailing machine sales rep to convert them.
There are instances where discontinued older products fit a segment in the market that was missed by the newer, sleeker models. For example, one manufacturer used to market a lower end model which you could add an automatic feeder for a relatively low cost. With their new product line you had to buy either a hand-fed model or move up to a model which had an integrated automatic envelope feeder. The jump in price was significant and many users of the older model with an add-on affordable feeder balked at paying the additional money to get this feature. So the manufacturer kept refurbishing the older models and selling them – not necessarily telling the customer they had been discontinued. Not so bad, if you consider you are getting advanced features at a lower price. The problem comes in when something breaks and the maintenance costs skyrocket or the meter rental charges escalate.
So if you follow just these two secrets, I promise you won’t get stuck with an outdated mailing machine and, in the long run, will save a lot of money for your organization.
